Over 4.6 Million Participated In The Destiny Beta
Activision has announced some stats to cap off last week’s Destiny beta test. According to Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, the week of testing was the largest console beta for a new IP to date.
The beta began on July 17 with the PlayStation kickoff, through the July 23 addition of Xbox players, finally culminating on the evening of July 23. During that time, 4,638,937 players sampled the game and helped Bungie prepare for the September launch.
“We surpassed even our own goals and the feedback was invaluable,” says Bungie chief operating officer Pete Parsons. “We cannot thank the community enough, the response was humbling and in the weeks ahead we’ll be working hard to ensure that Destiny lives up to the expectations at launch.”
Destiny will be out for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3 on September 9.

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Campaign Trailer, Limited Editions Announced, Multiplayer Reveal on August 11

With just a few short months to go before Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare hits store shelves, Activision and Sledgehammer Games have announced a trio of collector’s edition versions of the games with a variety of in-game content and collectible items.

On November 4th, fans will have their choice of the Atlas Limited Edition, Digital Pro Edition, and Atlas Pro Edition of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, priced at $79.99, $99.99, and $119.99, respectively.

Each version, including the downloadable Digital Pro Edition, will come equipped with the Atlas Digital Content Pack, which features two new weapons — the Bal-27 AE Assault Rifle and Atlas 45 AE Pistol — as well as a unique Atlas exoskeleton, helmet, player card, and five bonus supply drops that unlock new in-game gear. Players will also be able to upgrade their exoskeleton in the campaign early with new powers and abilities via an extra upgrade token.

What’s more, the collector’s edition versions of the game will include Atlas Gorge; a bonus multiplayer map that reimagines Pipeline, a fan favorite map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Both the Digital Pro Edition and Atlas Pro Edition will also come with the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Season Pass, which unlocks access to four forthcoming DLC multiplayer map packs.

For those that prefer tangible collectibles, the Atlas Limited Edition and Atlas Pro Edition will come with a unique steelbook case, the game’s official soundtrack, and the Atlas: Advanced Soldier manual — a collection of original concept art and historical and tactical information.

While you won’t be able to get your hands on the collector’s edition versions of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare until this November, check out the story trailer to see more of the game’s campaign and to get a small taste of what to expect from the multiplayer reveal on August 11th.

Ubisoft Introduces Elise in a new Assassin’s Creed Unity Arno Trailer, Screens, Artworks & More

Today Ubisoft is releasing a new CGI trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity that shows Arno racing against time and through a dense and chaotic central Paris in order to prevent the beheading of Elise, a character central to Assassin’s Creed Unity’s story. As an independent young noblewoman, Elise is determined to secure her place in the Templar dynasty amidst the chaos of the French Revolution. Her quest leads her to cross paths with Arno and establish an unlikely bond with him.

In addition to the new trailer, Ubisoft is offering fans the chance to discover a novel by Oliver Bowden based on Assassin’s Creed Unity. This new paperback from Penguin Random House builds on Bowden’s past Assassin’s novels – with 3 million copies sold to date - and examines an era when the divide between the rich and poor is at its most extreme, and a nation is tearing itself apart. Told from Elise’s perspective, the book follows her and Arno as they are drawn into the centuries-old battle between the Assassins and the Templars – a world with dangers more deadly than they could ever have imagined - and fight to avenge all they have lost.

Finally, fans can now also order “Elise: The Fiery Templar,” a high quality figurine designed by Ubicollectibles that features Elise as she sets her sights on her target with her gun poised and sword sheathed at the ready on her back. This collectible can be assembled into a diorama with the “Arno: The Fearless Assassin” figurine. Additional digital content for Assassin’s Creed Unity also is included with the purchase of this collectible.

Assassin’s Creed Unity will be released worldwide on October 28. The novel Assassin’s Creed Unity will be available in November. “Elise: The Fiery Templar” figurine will be released on October 14.

Assassin’s Creed Unity will be available across EMEA on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC at selected retailers . “Elise: The Fiery Templar” figurine will be available across EMEA territories and can be ordered now via the Uplay shop: shop.ubi.com/Elise

The Last of Us: One Night Live

To celebrate the launch of the PS4 version of The Last of Us, Naughty Dog brings last year’s Game of the Year to life in front of hundreds of fans in Santa Monica. This special one night only event will celebrate the artistry behind the game with a performance of the score, plus a “live read” of key scenes featuring the principal actors, as directed by Neil Druckmann. The creative team will also participate in a live audience Q&A.

Only because I love the clean vocals in this song.
