My Take on Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes

This is just my take on Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. This is not a review, it is just my opinion of the game or whatever you’d want to call it.

I’ve been a long time fan of Metal Gear Solid, it’s one of or if not my favorite video game franchises ever. Now with MGSGZ I do not regret buying the game on PS4 for $30.00, (last gen, $19.99) seeing there are some gamer’s out there who do not agree with the price, blah blah blah..

Okay, well I believe MGSGZ has a ton of replayability maybe not to some but I think some gamer’s who are new to the series don’t recall Metal Gear Solid VR Missions on PSX which just had a ton of those VR missions. Which according to IGN it originally released for $47.99, which is way more expense than MGSGZ. I don’t really understand players who speedrun and make MGSGZ a pointless entry. I myself play games to enjoy them at my own pace, but then again all gamers play things different.

As a long time fan of MGS I’m not dissatisfied with my purchase. I welcome a taste of what MGSV Phantom pain has to offer. After experiencing the Déjà Vu sideops mission brought in some classic nostalgia for me, just recreating scenes in the mission made me feel like a kid all over again, with familiar sights and sounds.

I’m not sure where my rambling is going with this but for those who aren’t sure on if you should pick up MGSVZ or what, I think if you’re a fan of the series that you’d want to try it for yourself and form your own opinion, but for me it was worth every penny, just to get a glimpse of what Phantom Pain will have in store.

Those are just the specs! When you purchase this laptop you can also order the accessories which include but not limited to the gaming mouse, keyboard and a headset! The keyboard is called the Thunder K7, the mouse is called the Thunder M7, and the headset is called the Thunder H7. That’s just besides the point.
Back to the laptop itself, on the keyboard there are a few macro keys, along with keys to control your fans! Granted this laptop isn’t the lightest but there are a lot of heavier ones out there! The aluminum casing makes this laptop desirable, in my honest opinion, this is one sexy laptop! I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these and test it out for myself! Granted this laptop isn’t going to be cheap, in places where it has already been released is around 3k. Which is a bit much, then again, you’re getting what you’re paying for. There is no set release date yet for the US, but I will update as I find out more!
If I had the money, I would most likely purchase it, but that’s just me!

VIDEO GAME IMPRESSIONS: Valve’s Steam Machine
Written by Rachel Morgan Perchinske
Steam Box?
I’m sure we’ve all heard about the new steam box, and after reading what Game Informer had to say about it, I wanted to do a bit of research on my own and talk to some people I know about it.
My personal opinion is that Steam is mainly leaning towards the console group of gamers out there. I personally am a PC gamer, I enjoy building my own computers and picking out what goes into it, I enjoy modding and changing up games to the way I like. I have absolutely nothing against console gaming, I do enjoy it myself, just not as much as I enjoy the PC way of gaming. But with PC unlike the console, you can have multiple monitors and or TV’s which ever you choose and that’s not even the best part, haha. Now back on point with the Steam Box.

The Steam Box has many different makes and styles, ranging from the prices of $500-$6000, but the prices are still being talked about. Also right out of Gameinformer issue 251 page 27 writer Ben Reeves, it lists all of the makers:
Alienware
Alternate
CyberPowerPC
Digital Storm - Bolt 2
Falcon Northwest - Tiki
Gigabyte - Brix Pro
iBuyPower
Maingear Spark
Next Spa
Origin PC - Chrono
Scan - NC10
Webhallen
Zotac
The specs are about the same as a mid gaming computer, but you know with Alienware they are going to jack it up… Not that I have anything against that or what not. I guess all in all it just comes down to the individual user, most of my friends that I’ve spoken to were on the same page as me. But it will be cool for the console user to be able to play Counter Strike! Along with many awesome games! So if you’re into console gaming and you have always wanted to play some computer games that aren’t on console here’s your chance!

Now with the controller as I have posted a picture above, the controller can be set to the way you like it. As in on a keyboard and mouse, you can do the same with this controller, the left side is like your W, A, S, and D keys, the right side is as if you were looking around with a mouse. It’s a bit weird at first from what I’ve read about, but then again, isn’t any controller that you first hold? Pretty much you can change up anything like you would be able to on a PC.
I think you guys should check it out to, I do have to admit tho, some of the versions that have been made do look really sweet. (As pictured above.)
On a side note, to end this with something random, as I am just that type of person… Why did the scarecrow get a raise? He was outstanding in his field! Oh the pun!

Telltales The Walking Dead has been on my backlog for a while now, and I just finished it and I cannot explain my emotions right now. That ending, is unlike anything I’ve experienced in gaming. I can see why this won so many GOTY awards.
Can’t wait to see what season two will bring!
Update: 07.10.13
Yes, I have played the 400 Days DLC as well.

Yes, I have played the 400 Days DLC as well.

Just finished The Last of Us.. Hands down my most favorite game this year. I don’t think anything can top this games story and characters. I recommend anyone who is looking for an amazing game to give this a go.

If you don’t feel like playing or just want to experience the full story just watch the above video, though I don’t think it will even be the same experience as playing the game it self, but here you go. Enjoy.

Remember Me ~ Screenshots from my playthrough

As you can tell this game is stunning from these screens. I’ve only played about an hour and a half and I think the game has already drawn me in. I’ll probably play more this weekend since I will have more time to do so. These screens are from the PC version. Oh, and the one memory remix I did was a very nice touch.

I finished my second playthrough of Tomb Raider for PC.
Though I did enjoy playing this wonderful game, however I didn’t feel it was that epic as my first experience on the PS3. Hopefully the future game will show Lara as more of a bad ass and maybe dual pistols. I kinda missed that. My next game will be Remember Me. I’m hoping that will keep me entertained until The Last of Us!

My Xbox One Personal Opinion
You guys asked for it so here it is.
This may be a bit out of whack since I tend to type what I’m thinking and drift off in thought. So get ready for my ramblings.
My thoughts on the Xbox One.
First off I was a huge fan of the Xbox 360 since launch, but after losing my job at GameStop in 2011 due to a store closing blah blah blah, anyway after being unemployed for nearly 8 months, I couldn’t afford Xbox Live so I decided to sell all my 360 stuff and move back over to PS3.
I made the move because of better exclusives IMO of course, like Uncharted, God of War, Heavy Rain, Journey & so on. Anywhoo I believe my main reason I moved on was because I couldn’t watch Netflix.
Okay moving on to the Xbox One.. so far I’m not 100% sure about the new console. Why you ask? Well until I know more about the new Xbox Live service I have very low interest in it and amongst other things. Not many seem to like the new look of the console but I like it. Looks good. I also like the fact that they moved up the Guide Button on the controller. A nice touch.
However I feel that Xbox One is what they were trying to accomplish with the 360 with all the new features to me it just seems like another XB360. I didn’t get the ‘wow’ feeling when I first seen the 360.
Everything sounds promising, but one things gets me.. Xbox One games will require a one-time activation code.
You can read up on that via Joystiq if you really want to know more of what I’m talking about.
Games I’m getting burned out of Halo, Gears, Call of Duty, and whatever else they keep spawning. I don’t mind too much about Assassin’s Creed series but lets be honest here, they just need to end it and move on.
Also I feel that there will more even more sequels that will be milked, and I’m sure you know what I mean. CoD, Battlefield, Assassin’s Creed and perhaps even Watch_Dogs. I just want new IPs not the same crap every year.
I’m just really not sure I how feel just yet, I may change my mind when E3 ends.
My final verdict is I’m personally not interested 100% in the Xbox One. I think that PS4 has a much better chance of making a comeback, but I will voice my opinions on the PS4 after E3 once we learn more about it.
Will I get an Xbox One at launch? At this moment in time nah, probably not. As of now I’m not impressed. but then again I’ll most likely get it anyway despite my thoughts, because I’m a gamer and I like games.

Completed Hitman: Absolution. Finished about  11ish hours.  My thoughts…
Absolution is the only game of the series that I found myself drawn to. I tried for years to get into them. The only thing I really didn’t like about the game was it’s disguise system nor did I like stealth too much. Seemed like I was always getting caught. Also the fact that the PC version didn’t have a quick save option was kind of annoying. Overall I enjoyed my experience. So worth the $9 I spent for the professional edition over at Amazon.

What I’m playing this weekend Hitman: Absolution for the PC. I’m not going to lie I’ve never really been really into the Hitman series until this game. I feel that this is what I wanted a long time ago when I first played the original games. Though the originals are good, I couldn’t get into them. Perhaps I’ve missed out on some cooler features the older games offered but Absolution is my personal favorite.

You can pick up the PC copy over on Amazon for $4.99 for the standard edition and $8.99 for the Professional Edition if you haven’t yet.

Tonight I decided to finished up Dishonored that I started over Christmas, (I tend to get sidetracked and start other games) though it was a good game  there is a lot of room for improvement and I can’t wait to see more dishonored in the future, hopefully. Now to start Knife of Dunwall DLC.

[UPDATE] What I’ve been playing & Completed

Currently Playing

Uncharted 3, I’ve been playing this on and off since 2011, and just couldn’t get into it. Perhaps I just wasn’t in the mood. I started playing Friday night and so far it’s just fantastic, Not a huge fan of the combat. Maybe It’s because I really enjoyed Tomb Raiders combat.

Completed recently:

God of War Ascension, Though I wasn’t much of a fan of this title I enjoyed it for what it was. Felt more like a handheld game that should have came out on the PlayStation Vita. Also it was weird that Kratos wasn’t all Grrr like in previous games, and he was more human like.

Tomb Raider, This game was awesome, graphics, & gameplay were great. Though I thought the ‘tomb raiding’ was dull and rather easy. Uncharted still feels more ‘tomb raiderish to me.

Uncharted 3, Finished up this game. Loved every moment. Hopefully Naughty Dog makes a fourth at some point or another.

Next up BioShock Infinite

I’m a huge fan of the first game. Not so much of the second. I didn’t like it one bit. I personally thought it sucked compared to the original. Everything about Infinite just looks amazing, and can’t wait to start playing Tuesday!
